Privacy Policy
Last updated:
The short version. Revancha keeps your matches on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There is no account and no ads, and we don't sell your data or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Usage analytics are pseudonymous and, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, collected only if you agree; crash reports help us fix bugs. You can switch both off at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy. A match result goes online only when you share it by link.
Who we are
Revancha ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and published by Matvey Pirogov, the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: support@revancha.app.
Data that stays on your devices
Revancha stores in the app's local storage on your iPhone — and, for the match in progress, on your Apple Watch:
- the match in progress: the rules you chose and the point-by-point log;
- your crew: its name, the players' names as you type them, the match history with line-ups, and the ratings the app calculates from it;
- app settings, such as the theme and your privacy choices;
- if you start a free trial and allow notifications, a reminder two days before the first charge. The app schedules it on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us.
Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange the match in progress directly, through Apple's WatchConnectivity; it doesn't pass through our servers.
We don't receive this data. It is included in your device backups according to your iCloud or computer backup settings. Deleting the app deletes it.
Shared results
When you tap Share on a match summary, Revancha publishes that result so friends can open it without the app: the crew name, the day of the match, the four players' names as you typed them, the score by set, the winner, the crew's current leader (a name, no rating) and the match's comeback, if there was one. The first time, the app tells you this before sharing. Nothing else is sent: no account, no device or advertising identifier, no ratings.
The result gets its own page at revancha.app/r/ followed by a random 22-character code. Anyone with the link can open it; the page is hidden from search engines, and there is no list of results. The link works for 6 months, then the result is deleted automatically. You can remove it earlier: match summary → ⋯ → Remove link; deleting the match removes the link too. Only your phone holds the key that removes it.
We store shared results in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore in the European Union. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the sharing you asked for. Your friends' names appear only because you typed and shared them: if a friend asks you to remove a result, use Remove link or write to support@revancha.app.
Apple Health
If you allow it, the Apple Watch app records each match as a workout in Apple Health — as tennis, because Health has no padel workout type — and reads your heart rate and active energy during the match so the workout is complete. The iPhone app uses HealthKit only to start that workout on your paired watch when you start a match on the iPhone; it doesn't read or write Health data itself. This data stays in Apple Health on your devices: we don't receive it, we never use it for advertising and we don't share it with anyone. You can change or revoke access at any time on your iPhone: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Revancha.
Data processed by services we use
| Service | What and why | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit) | Payments for Revancha Pro are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your payment details. | — |
| RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) | Manages Pro purchases and subscriptions: a random app user ID, purchase and subscription history, app version, device model, OS version, the store's country and currency, and your IP address when the app contacts RevenueCat. Used to unlock Pro, restore purchases and count subscriptions. | Needed to sell and restore Pro (performance of a contract). |
| Apple Ads attribution (Apple, via RevenueCat) | If you install Revancha after tapping one of our ads on the App Store, the app gets an attribution token from Apple's AdServices framework, and RevenueCat exchanges it with Apple for the campaign, ad group, keyword and country of that ad. No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used, and Apple does not treat this as tracking. Used only to see which of our own ads pay off. | Legitimate interest (measuring our own ads). You can object at any time: support@revancha.app. |
| Google Firebase Analytics (Google LLC, Google Ireland Ltd) | Pseudonymous usage events linked to a random app-instance ID: screens opened, the Pro screen shown or closed, the one-time offer shown or declined, a purchase or restore, a result shared (with or without a link and a picture), and events Firebase records automatically such as first open and session start; plus device model, OS version, app version, language and approximate country (derived from your IP address, which Google does not keep). No advertising ID or IDFV is collected, and the data is not used for ads. | In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — and wherever we can't tell your region — only if you say yes (consent). Elsewhere — on by default (legitimate interest). Off at any time: Settings → Privacy. |
| Google Firebase Cloud Firestore (Google Ireland Ltd, EU region) | Only results you choose to share — see “Shared results” — stored for up to 6 months. Google processes your IP address to handle the request; it isn't stored with the result. | Only when you tap Share. Remove any time: match summary → ⋯ → Remove link. |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports: the error and stack trace, technical details at the moment of the crash, device model, OS and app version, and a random installation ID. Used only to find and fix bugs. | On by default (legitimate interest). Off at any time: Settings → Privacy. |
Our website and email
revancha.app has no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages, including shared results, and to protect the site from abuse.
When you write to support@revancha.app, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our mailbox at Google (Gmail). We use your address and message only to answer you and keep them for up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
Links to the App Store
Links to Revancha on our website and in our posts may carry a campaign name, for example "launch-post". Apple reports to us, in aggregate, how many people downloaded or subscribed after each link.
What we don't do
- No account and no sign-in. No ads in the app and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies, and no advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We don't sell or share your personal data for advertising.
- We don't receive, sell or use your Apple Health data for advertising or anything other than recording your match workouts.
How long data is kept
- On-device data: until you delete it or the app.
- Shared results: 6 months after sharing, or until you remove the link.
- Analytics: up to 14 months. Crash reports: up to 90 days.
- Support emails: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Purchase records and Apple Ads attribution: kept by RevenueCat while needed to provide Pro, to measure our ads and to meet legal accounting obligations.
International transfers
RevenueCat and Google may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR or US state laws — you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Most data never leaves your devices, so you control it directly. For analytics, crash or purchase data, write to support@revancha.app; if your request is about a purchase, include the order ID from Apple's receipt email so we can find it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Revancha is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
